Prescription Order: Is an order for a product, medicine, or device for a named patient, which needs to be signed by a doctor, dentist, or an independent prescriber. The items on a prescription are VAT exempt.

Signed Order: The items added on a signed order are subject to VAT. Almost everything on the price list can be ordered on a signed order, and there are fewer restrictions on quantities of items ordered. Prescription only medicines (POM) can only be ordered by persons authorised to do so, namely doctors, dentists, and pharmaceutical wholesalers.

The signed order button is not available for independent prescribers. Exceptions are allowed for any prescribing nurses based in Scotland carrying on the business of an independent clinic that is listed on the "Healthcare Improvement Scotland" portal are able to order and stock prescription only and pharmacy medicines in connection with the running of the clinic.

Stock Order: A stock order is for clinic consumables and non POMs. The items added on a stock order are subject to VAT and can be ordered by any healthcare professional.

Notice for ordering non-prescription orders

Please note, Medicines including P’s and GSL’s cannot be ordered as stock due to MHRA regulations unless your own professional regulatory body can confirm otherwise for you. For example, Emla cream is classed as a P-Pharmacy Medicine and cannot be ordered as clinic stock by a nurse. Doctors and Dentists are exempt from this rule and can order medicine stock for their clinics on a signed order basis.

If the medicines are for a patient, please use the prescription option, or if not a prescriber please contact your associated prescriber.

If the medicines are for your own personal use, then please email us your requirements on orders@churchpharmacy.co.uk and after carrying out some pharmacy checks, we may be able to release the items to you based on quantity restrictions but may take up to 3 working days to process.

All items classed as non-medicines including Gloves, Medical Devices (i.e. Fillers), Needles, and other Cosmeceutical and skincare items can be ordered as a stock order.
